"This Can Be Used To Shoot Down Police Choppers"

In this excerpt from The Simpsons, it is quite obvious a Hyperbole (an exaggeration) is employed in this scene. It is easily seen when Homer is testing the Gun. He tests it by squeezing the trigger several times, pointing at the vendor's face, which in real life clearly goes against gun safety regulations (you can't load or fire a weapon in a gun shop). And then when the guy shows Homer the weapon accessories, and at first, they are normal or considerably normal ones (like the Holster), but by the time he gets o the Rocket Launcher, it is an obvious exaggeration since a revolver only shoots at short range. And off course, there is no such thing as that accessory to shoot down police helicopters. It is possible the writers are mocking the gun fever in the US, and the crazy things guns can do. Also, the fact that Homer wants the gun right in that moment, but the guy tells him its a 5 day wait, while they confirm his identity, and checks his records in order to sell it to him. After Homer is clearly unhappy about this they fight like toddlers over the gun, again mocking the subject.
